Personality: 

"Because it's fun, that's why!" pretty much sums up Arath's motivations and actions.  He's playful, and something of a trickster.   He will be quiet and distant from time to time when he's in a thoughtful or pondering mood, though more often he's laughing at something he did, some prank he pulled or some little joke that only partially makes sense to someone else.  He tends not to grasp the gravity of a lot of situations, rarely ever dropping his light heartedness, or his banter.  Arath's ideas of right and wrong are a bit blurred as well, he'll go too far sometimes, not realizing until someone actually calls him out on it.  He can be infuriating to deal with, most times on purpose.  However, if he really cares about someone he does his best to make them happy and limit his pranks and jokes.


Life at the academy: 

Arath has enjoyed his time at the academy so far, while he does pay attention to lessons, he tends to be at least a little bit distracted.  He has a few friends he likes to hang around with, and a lot of dragons he likes to annoy.


Relationship to Keeper: 

Arath has a pretty good relationship with Charredan, and is quite grateful his mentor doesn't dislike his pranks to the degree some others might.  He likes spending time with the older dragon.  He tends to be a bit calmer around his keeper, mostly out of respect, and tries to restrain his trickster nature a little.  Even if he fails and comes off as even cheekier than normal half the time.


Mental Attributes: 

Arath is clever despite how much of a goof he is, just his mental capabilities tend to go towards more playful and childish things.  If he actually acts serious for a minute or two though he's quite smart, the only trouble is getting him to act seriously. 


Mental shortcomings: 

Arath tends to be a bit skewed in his way of thinking, he rarely sees things or threats them as seriously as he ought to.  He doesn't plan ahead very much unless it comes to a prank or something like that as well, preferring to go with the flow of things, which can end up with him in dangerous situations surprisingly easily, and, in a fight, he more plays around than anything else.


Physical Attributes: 

Arath is a powerful long distance flyer with his large wings.  His tail is, while not amazingly strong, able to move extremely quickly, and if need be Arath can use it as a whip, and even break bones of smaller creatures.


Physical Shortcomings: 

Arath has a somewhat slender build, which, while making flying easier, means that he tends not to be the best in pure physical combat.  He also isn't as agile as some smaller dragons due to his large wing size.  Despite this he's quite graceful in movements, though showing off a bit isn't the greatest if you're being chased by an infuriated dragon.


Breath Abilities:

Fire Stream - Arath sends a long jet of fire at his target, and can maintain the stream of fire for as long as he can go without breathing.

Heat Haze - Arath uses his fire to drastically heat the ground beneath him, creating an area around him that is uncomfortably hot for those not used to fire around himself.  This also can create a decent sized updraft, and he often uses this to gain height from the ground swiftly.  While it can be used in the air, it's less effective as the heat dissipates more swiftly and spreads over a larger area.  His eyes glow slightly when using the ability, as well as the area he's heating.

Meteor - Arath surrounds himself in fire, diving down from high above his opponent and slamming into them, releasing the fire in a large burst around himself on the collision, mostly forwards and outwards.  Generally more showy than anything else, as his fire stream can easily accomplish a similar effect in terms of area covered by fire, albeit in a slightly longer time, but from a much farther distance.

Charredan - "My keeper!  I like him.  I like a lot of dragons so saying that isn't much though...  I like him in a non-pranking way.  I mean pranking him is fun but...  I respect him enough to not do something eeeeeevery day?  I guess the best way to put it is I'm glad I'm not another element because I feel like I'd get along way worse with the majority of the other keepers...  No that's not a good way to put it either!  That makes it sound like he's the best of bad options, which really isn't true.  Okay.  Listen.  Charredan is great.  If he was my age I'd see us being friends in a happy, cheerful, him sometimes rolling his eyes in annoyance at my way.  I genuinely like him.  A lot.  He's nice, and I'm very lucky to have him as my keeper.  There.  Not going to stop me from messing with some stuff tonight though!"

Pearla - "What to say about someone who says so much to say something so plain?  She's fun!  No, really.  But in a more relaxed, mysterious way, like a riddle to solve!  Except a riddle I can't solve since it has no answer.  Mimicking her poetic speech is a fun challenge.  And that cube she gave me!  I tried to get it back to the normal state, but...  I ended up with one colour on each side.  So, hooray for one way of arranging it?  I don't know really.  She's a great example of my kind but her presence is... I dunno.  I just like being around her but not in a teasing way...  I think she'd be impossible to tease, and maybe that's why she's fun to be around."

Claritt - "He's fun to bug and tease!  And also scary.  Honestly, he actually scares me a bit, which is pretty rare.  Normally I can see or find some little bit of cheer beneath the anger and wanting me to bugger off, but either he just doesn't have it, or he's amazing at hiding it...  The latter worries me more, really, what kind of dragon would want to be angry or depressed all the time?  Maybe the spikes just have him constantly grumpy?  I'd be annoyed if I was that spiky, imagine trying to get comfortable without poking yourself...  I'm honestly surprised that he's not fear or wrath or something.  He'd fit in great there."

Osta - "She's nice.  A bit vain, a bit grumpy at times?  But nice!  She doesn't take to pranks too well, which is basically taking to pranks amazingly.  For me.  Hehe~  Though she seems to enjoy being around Claritt a bit, which kind of confuses me.  I guess angsty is a character trait some dragons go for?  Either way, if my hunch is right I feel kind of bad.  Imagine trying to snuggle the guy.  Ouch!"

Saiph - "I have more points than her!  Woo!"

Swallow - "She helped me with the cube a little bit, though she wouldn't solve it outright.  Which is fair.  Also I think she's grumpy at me for some random reason or another.  Probably something along the lines of teasing a bit too much.  Oh well!  Sucks to be her."

Grey - "Burnt cookie buddy!  Those things are tasty."

Tephra - "Neat tail!  Peach keepers are quite interesting."

Iezwil - "I sure hope those trees are okay.  All around she seems like an alright dragon."

Breeia - "She helped me with a prank so she's pretty good in my books.  Prank wars shall commence soon though, beware!  BEWARE!  Hehehe."
